After making me think Wednesday and then again Thursday, and Friday *and* Saturday that she was surely going to have these babies that day, Wildfire finally settled down to things last night.  We have 4 new Firemountain Maine Coonlings, 3 boys and a girl. :)

They are all significantly larger than past litters, between 4oz for the girl and 5.4oz for the biggest boy and mom's labor was quite intense.  Colors are currently open for discussion, most likely the boys are cameos with white (red silver with white) and the girl looks to be a silver patched tabby with white.

Proud daddy is CFA GC Catgo Top Gun of Firemountain, proud mama is Koonikats Wildfire of Firemountain.

Thank you! At this stage they are kinda non-cute; I call it the gerbil stage, but in a week or two they'll be roly poly and cuter than a button! :)

Thank you, I kind of think so too, but it's an acquired taste, I think. :)

Maybe? Or people are just strange! They're absolutely precious.

Have you "met" my Gemma yet? I only adopted her in April, from my sister, who rescued her from a bastard of a previous housemate of hers, but she and I gel really well. She's a darling, and full of the good kind of tortitude.

Gerbil babies are all furless and creepy. Kittens even at this stage are more interesting. You can at least see color (sort of). Although my patch tabby looked like a handful of reese's pieces, she did get cuter by the day.

The little red with white guy at far right looks like he will be handsome. But all are sweet.

Let me guess, you'll soon be posting cute kitten pictures that will make me wish I could have more cats.

I'll try to do better. With the 2010 litter I only posted on FB and Twitter, but I cannot neglect you all! /evil? me? :)

Yay for kittens! Congrats all round, to you and Mom and Dad.

Thanks! As usual it was a bit more exciting than strictly necessary and now I get to worry about other things going wrong, lol, but I'm so glad they are here!

Btw, are you in town this weekend? I'm planning on being down Friday-Sunday for show in Cumming and would love to do dinner Friday night if you are available.

I'm around, and dinner Friday sounds great! You haven't met Trilla yet, right?

No, I haven't. Love those ears! :) I call you Friday when I get in. I'll be staying in Roswell, because there's no real good place to stay closer to that showhall - at least not ones that take pets. Look forward to seeing you again!

Mother looks absolutely beautiful in that photo, and I'm sure the babies will be adorable once they're passed the gerbil stage. :-)

What, you mean you don't adore them right now? ;) I'm so thrilled with their size, they are already almost double the size of the last litter when they were born, so gerbil stage should wear off faster for them! :)

Aww... I'm glad all went well.
